In business, the term relations also refers to how they get on with their potential clientele.
Also how they get on with their local community. Suppose there is a possibility of a dispute between the business and its local neighbours regarding issues like noise from the plant, well then it’s best practice to relate well with those locals and have a good relationship with them. Having good relations with the locals on an ongoing basis helps with the relationship and the harmonious relations and relationship. It means that it easier to talk with, and ultimately, to negotiate with them regarding issues.
One could say either, relations or relationship. So in order to say anything at all, they have to make a decision to say one or the other.
And they could refer to, relations or relationships or indeed both.
